Functional Aspects: CD9 is a glycoprotein expressed on developing B lymphocytes, platelets, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, stimulated T lymphocytes and by neurons and glial cells of the peripheral nervous system. In some cells it regulates cell activation and aggregation as well as cell motility in some cell lines. It influences Schwann cell behavior and is present in certain cancers. This antibody will help detect CD9 and CD9 expressing tissues. |
