Recombinant, Streptococcus pneumoniae β1,4-Galactosidase expressed in E. coli. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of non-reducing terminal β1,4-linked galactose. This enzyme is not known to cleave substituted or branched galactose. Inhibited by fucose attached to penultimate sugar. Note: 1 mU = 1 milliunit.
