Functional Aspects: CD25 antigen is the alpha subunit of interleukin-2 receptor. It is expressed on a subpopulation of T cells subsequent to their activation with an antigen or mitogen in the presence of interleukin-1. CD25 is also found on HTLV-1 transformed T and B cells, EBV transformed B cells, myeloid precursors and oligodendrocytes. This antibody may be useful in studies of inflammation, lymphoid neoplasia, autoimmune diseases or allograft rejection to help characterize CD25 expression. |
