Ellagic acid
Description
Polyphenol found in plants. Its precusors are ellagitannins commonly present in grapes, pomegranate, raspberries, and strawberries. It is an inhibitor of Phase I enzymes, an inducer of Phase II enzymes and an inhibitor of chemical carcinogenesis.
