mitoNEET Inhibitor NL-1, Thiazolidinedione 5-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl)-4-hydroxythiazol-2(5H)-one A cell-permeable, thiazolidinedione (TZD) that acts as an inhibitor of MitoNEET (IC50 = 0.9 µM) in competition with rosiglitazone and pioglitazone, in liver mitochondrial suspensions. In pharmacological studies, it was found to alter isolated mitochondrial complex I respiration with an IC50 of 2.4 µM and inhibited State III respiration up to 45%.
