Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride
Description
A neuroleptic or antipsychotic drug used to reduce hallucinations and delusions in persons with mental illness. It also has a chemopreventive property. Chlorpromazine increases protein synthesis as well as chromatin susceptibility to enzymatic degradation, thus achieving an opposite effect of carcinogen. Peak, et al. showed that adminstration of Chlorpromazine to SKH-1 mice via their drinking water reduces UV-induced squamous cell carcinogenesis.
