L(+)-Ascorbic acid
Description
An antioxidant agent. Vitamin C reduces DNA single strand breaks and 1-hydroxyethyl-POBN adduct formation caused by ethanol. Researches also show that in experimental animals it prevents oral carcinogenesis induced by dimethyl benz anthracene (DMBA) by reducing the yield of squamous cell carcinomas by 60-80%.
