Application
Optimized staining set detects bacterial β-Gal constructs (encoded by the lacZ gene) in transfected cells by making β-galactosidase enzyme activity visible; the product of the β-gal reaction can be seen by the naked eye or under a light microscope. It simplifies the histochemical staining of cells and tissue sections by forming a blue precipitate in the presence of the enzyme.
