Functional Aspects:Epstein-Barr Virus Nuclear Antigen 2 (EBNA2) is crucial for growth transformation of B lymphocytes and is known to modulate the activity of several viral and cellular promoters during infection. This antibody will generally not label true EBV-positive lymphomas but will label EBV induced atypical lymphoproliferative disease.
